
Apprenticeship
Overview
The Retail Apprenticeship is a level 2 qualification designed for people
with basic Retail experience and skills.
This qualification can be achieved within 10 - 14 months
dependant on the candidate’s ability and input, and also the co-operation
and assistance of the employer/placement provider.
How the Retail Apprenticeship works
The complete Retail Apprenticeship Framework comprises
of a Technical Certificate at level 2 that includes 6 Mandatory level
2 Units and one written examination,
3 Mandatory level 2 NVQ Units,
7 selected Optional NVQ level 2 Units,
Application of Numbers Portfolio at level 1,
Communications Portfolio at level 1,
Key Skills examinations in Application of Numbers at level 1 and Communications
at level 1
(each of 1 hour duration containing multiple-choice questions).
Passes in the two Key Skills examinations, Technical Certificate
examination and completion of the 6 Mandatory Technical Certificate
level 2 Units,
3 Mandatory level 2 NVQ Units,
7 selected Optional NVQ level 2 Units,
Application of Numbers Portfolio at level 1 and Communications Portfolio
at level 1, must be achieved in order to qualify for the full Retail
Apprenticeship Award.
